Rumors give way to reality. Pepsi is launching P1, its first smartphone. The famous brand of soft drinks, however, is looking for financial backers.
Seems like a joke, but it isn’t. After a long series of rumors, Pepsi has confirmed the imminent launch of a smartphone. An idea how another trying to intoxicate their large customer base, which in 2014 was higher than that of its historic rival, Coca Cola. Pepsi P1 smartphone, the brand plans to venture into a rather complicated segment, where competition is becoming more cut-throat.
Before you start to sell your own product, Pepsi has intention to measure the popularity index by potential customers. For this reason, the American company has decided to launch a campaign on JD Finance crowdfunding, a kind of Chinese equivalent Kickstarter or Eppela. The goal is to reach the figure of 440 thousand euros within the next 3 December. To date, were obtained only 582 thousand. A beginning not really uplifting.
But what there will be in the Pepsi P1? JD Finance has also communicated the technical product specification. It is a mid-range mobile device dimensions rather contained and weighing 158 grams. It has a display by 5.5-inch diagonal Full HD resolution, with slightly rounded edges.
Pepsi P1 is equipped with a processor MT6792 eight core MediaTek, with a maximum clock frequency of 1.7 GHz. The latter is backed up by a 2 GB RAM memory and internal storage of 16 GB. The rear camera is 13 megapixel and 5 MP front camera, with an internal battery to 3000 mAh. It works through the UI Dido 6.1 with Android OS 5.1 Lollipop.
In all this, we must add that the smartphone has Pepsi now inevitable scanner for fingerprint recognition system, able to guarantee greater security to those who use it.
