Walmart Pay is the new mobile payment method compatible with Android Pay, Google’s rival to Apple Service Pay. Since the service was launched last September, Walmart had not yet suggested the possibility of accepting Android Pay. In the last few hours something changed.
The announcement of Walmart Pay
With a press release at this time, the leading global retail has announced the compatibility of the Google service with digital payment service of Walmart Pay. Walmart Pay will be present within some apps owned by the company Walmart, which according to a recent estimate of the company they would praise more than 22 million monthly active users.
This new service is compatible with Android Pay puts its bases of operation on QR codes (or matrix codes) and not on the so-called “tap-and-pay” NFC this sensor used in different models of Android smartphones.
The aim of this service
The goal which is to reach the service was summarised by President and CEO Neil Ashe. In a statement said: “the goal of this service is to help our customers to shop more easily and quickly.”
The company’s CEO expressed the same potential that this service can get to saying “Walmart Pay is the latest example of how we are making more transparent e-commerce experience for more than 140 million customers who shop from our store every week”.
Walmart Pay clearly demonstrates how quickly technology is changing our lives positively. Even a simple task like making a purchase, make a financial transition or perform other similar tasks has been made easier to achieve through the use of these new technologies.
