Verily is the new name that Alphabet gave the project Google Life Sciences. The exact meaning of this term can be rendered as “truly” or “certainly.” The term Verily fell into disuse, especially in recent years. So why the Big G and Alphabet have decided to give this name to a project so important?
Verily: a significant term
To answer this interesting question is the same CEO Andy Conrad, in an interview, he explained the reasons for the choice made by saying: “only through truth can have a chance to compete with Mother nature.”
Also the same Conrad he went on to say: “our goal is to go from ‘conventional’ medical technologies to learn more, to get to the truth. To do this we necessarily need to act from reactive and proactive to optimize prevention.”
The noble purpose of project
Which lens arises from reaching the project? This major project, developed by Google in collaboration with Alphabet, welcomes inside a multidisciplinary team huge and very diverse. Verily, it houses the joint collaboration of engineers, doctors, chemists and many others still that have one common goal: to tackle the great mysteries of disease prevention to ensure a better future for future generations.
Soon the project could provide wearable medical devices that Verily, through the use of miniature sensors, could make a difference in the fight against various serious diseases. For example, in the future, we may have a diagnostic tool based on nano-particles to detect cancer or other life-threatening diseases. All of us can’t wait for the project lead to excellent results and continuing at this rate, it will most likely be so.
