Yesterday Google, almost by surprise, released in various countries 2 in 1 tablet Pixel C, designed especially for productivity and as a competitor to the iPad. The price tag of $499 or $599, 32 or 64 GB versions respectively, justifies – in part – the excellent specifications and construction. As well as a tablet, you can use your device as a “laptop” by purchasing the keyboard, for another $150.
Do you remember the Google Android tablet Pixel C?
Whether it was spoken last September in conjunction with the presentation of two new Google smartphone, the Nexus 5x and the Nexus 6p. Since then, the Mountain View company didn’t have the most talked about much.
Hardly surprisingly, the tablet Pixels C was launched yesterday on Google Play in several countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, China (Hong Kong), Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States.
Pixel C, the 2 in 1 Google tablet
The tablet is suitable to be a direct competitor to the iPad and is constructed with premium materials (for example, anodized aluminum body) and with technical characteristics.
To refresh your memory, here are the main features of the tablet:
- 10.2-inch screen and a resolution of 2560 × 1800 pixels (308 PPI)
- NVIDIA Tegra processor X 1 with GPU Maxwell
- 3 GB RAM
- 32 or 64 GB of internal memory
- 2 MP front camera and front-facing 8 MP
- Will use the USB connector of type C
- Android Marshmallow 6.0.
The introductory price of tablet is $499 for 32 GB version and $599 for the 64 GB version.
Recall that the tablet was born as a 2 in 1, i.e. it can be used as a tablet “pure” or, adding the keyboard, sort of like a laptop.
To add the keyboard, however, need another $150 which, come to think of it, would be enough alone to purchase an entry-level laptop with Windows 10.
It is not yet clear when this device will arrive in all other countries but, most likely, we will have to wait for the 2016.
